Had amazing backyard eggs and biscuits FREMONT DINER

This past weekend my amazing co-directed/director of photography and I entered the Music Video Race We basically had about 48 hours to meet a band from the bay area, get to know them, and shoot their video. We got the talented Vandella It was stressful, rewarding, and joyous. At first it felt like an awkward first date, but then it blossomed into a passionate creative love-making of minds experience. The screening for the contest is this weekend at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco.

After attending the LACMA Dali exhibit and seeing the storyboards for Destino I have been craving for it to come to life. In 2003 it was released. Disney X Salvador Dali X John Hench X Armando Dominguez. The surreal animation is accessible to all via YouTube. Journey through the hallucinations of man in this dissolving landscape that is, Destino.

My favorite storyboard, and favorite scene is at 3:05 the ballerina turned dandelion.

Tina Fey, and Amanda Visell on Chris Brown’s comeback

At times forgiving, and forgetting do not go hand in hand.
The line at the end of 30 Rock last week was pretty bold,”I reject Chris Brown’s comeback.”  The main topic of the episode was women being the dominant money maker of the relationship. Obviously when the Rhianna and Chris Brown abuse happened she was the more popular of the two. Which is interesting for Tina Fey to add that line in her recap of 2012 rap. With the release of Rhianna’s latest album we all feel a sense of forgiveness with her and Mr. Brown. However, what does the rest of the society feel like?
I recall when Michael Jackson died a lot of people finally started admitting admiration for Chris Brown after he cried during his tribute performance. Then BAM! he starts bringing snapbacks back and rapping. But this comeback isn’t welcomed by all.
Click on the photo to see a great female artist’s opinion on how she feels about the hype Chris Brown has been receiving lately. These two women (Tina Fey, and Amanda Visell) have got me thinking a lot lately about forgetting that this man beat a woman.

Female filmmaking advice

“If there’s any advice we can give, it would be to go ahead and make a movie and stop waiting. There are great tools today that can help filmmakers take control of their own projects.”

HOMO (sapiens)

Yesterday morning my girlfriend and I were walking hand in hand down Kearny Street in San Francisco. We usually hold hands, and it never comes to my mind as taking a stance or rubbing my sexuality in anyone’s face. However, a 40 something year old African American man felt the need to voice his opinions on our relationship. He told us we were sick, and that dildos, and eating pussy was distgusting.

Everyday something worse is said, and/or awful actions are done to people who are homosexual, bisexual, transexual, and whatever else they want to use to describe their love. Homophobia just doesn’t cut it as an excuse. After speaking to my mother about the situation she told me that I needed to be the bigger person and it is best to remain silent. I don’t agree. I am not saying fight hate with hate, but something needs to be done to help other’s live in a humane society.

Experiencing this hate first hand really put me back into reality.Taking a look outside of myself I feel helpless. I can’t hug each person that is hurt like I did to my girlfriend on the street as she cried. I can’t talk sense into the minds of these despicable individuals that give rise to hate.  But what I can do is keep loving. Keep holding my girlfriend’s hand like any other couple does. Keep presenting compassion in any form of art I produce.

I attached these photos I took for Keep Drowning, because they are genuine moments between same sex couples.  I see normalcy, love, and pure affection when I see these. And despite how raged this situation has made me, I need to remember to keep loving. These photos remind me of that.

Keep unselfishly loving.
